About:

In celebration of Valentine’s Day, Hampton Bays High School Leo Club members spread love in a little different way than most — they cooked up some soup, assembled sandwiches, and gathered toiletries and coats to deliver to the local homeless population.

Using the school van, the group traveled to four locations in Hampton Bays to serve those in need. Working in 19-degree weather, they set up a table where they offered the cups of hot soup, sandwiches and toiletries.

While only two individuals gratefully accepted their generosity, the group was not deterred. They plan to repeat their effort in the future and possibly turn it into a regular mission.

The Hampton Bays Leo Club is made up of Hampton Bays High School students who desire to give back to their community. The group is led by Luca Villano and faculty advisers Emily Brandow and Larry Luce. Students interested in joining the club are always welcome to attend biweekly meetings on Wednesdays at 2:20 p.m. at the high school.
