As September came to a close, Harborfields Athletics proudly recognized teams that hosted Pediatric Cancer Awareness events throughout the month. Student-athletes showed their support by wearing gold ribbon socks and gold shoelaces, helping to spread awareness for this important cause.
Yesterday, the field hockey and volleyball teams wrapped up the month by hosting bake sales and fundraisers, with all proceeds donated to Corey’s Promise. The evening also featured a varsity girls soccer game, a varsity boys soccer game, and an alumni game, honoring Alex DeBus and Andrew Hinkson. All proceeds from the evening benefited Corey’s Promise.
Special recognition goes to Belle Svoboda, who served as gameday captain, and to Natalie Pedrazzi for bringing her Greenlawn Goes Gold Initiative to the event. Thank you as well to Corey’s Promise for donating the gold ribbon socks and shoelaces, Deer Park for hosting the games, the Deer Park girls varsity team for their generous donation, and the HF Booster Club for their support in making the evening memorable.
Thanks to everyone who coached, played, donated, and volunteered—their contributions made the events a huge success and helped raise awareness for pediatric cancer in a meaningful way.
