About:
The Harborfields High School community recently came together for an inspiring evening of support, strength, and generosity during the annual Boys Basketball Coaches vs. Cancer Game.
This year’s event honored first-grade student Ariella and her family, celebrating her incredible journey after being diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a rare form of cancer that affected both of her adrenal glands. Ariella underwent two years of intensive treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering and Cohen Children’s Hospital during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Today, at just six years old, she stands cancer-free — a powerful symbol of resilience and hope for the entire Harborfields community.
The game served as a meaningful opportunity for student-athletes, coaches, families, and supporters to rally around an important cause while raising awareness and funds for cancer-related initiatives. The boys’ basketball team played a central role in organizing and promoting the event, demonstrating leadership and compassion both on and off the court.
Special thanks were extended to the Harborfields Booster Club, team parents, and community supporters whose generous contributions helped make the night a success. Events like Coaches vs. Cancer highlight the profound impact athletics can have in uniting communities, uplifting families facing challenges, and inspiring others to give back.
Through their commitment to service and support, Harborfields student-athletes continue to show what it truly means to be stronger together.
