The Harborfields Field Hockey program is turning every October game into an opportunity to make a difference through its Corners for Cancer fundraiser in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
Throughout the month, supporters can pledge $1 per corner, another amount of their choice per corner, or a set donation for every penalty corner Harborfields earns during its October games. To make the fundraiser even more exciting, if the team scores on a corner, the donation for that corner doubles.
The campaign will run across the team’s full October schedule, giving players, families, and fans multiple opportunities to support the effort while following the team throughout the month.
All money raised will be donated to Ribbons Rising, a breast cancer foundation serving the Harborfields community.
In addition to the month-long fundraiser, Harborfields will also host a Breast Cancer Awareness Game on October 9 against Sayville, bringing even more attention to the cause and the importance of supporting those impacted by breast cancer.
Through Corners for Cancer, the Harborfields student-athletes are combining competition, community, and service in a creative way. Each corner earned on the field becomes another opportunity to raise awareness and generate support for a local organization making a difference.
By bringing the community into the fundraiser and tying each pledge directly to the action on the field, Harborfields Field Hockey is showing how student-athletes can use their season to create meaningful impact far beyond the final score.
