About:
Nearly two decades ago, the annual Dig for Pink volleyball event was born, coinciding with breast cancer awareness month. During this special occasion, the school organized modified, JV, and varsity volleyball matches all in one night. The teams proudly don pink uniforms, and our gyms come alive with pink decorations. The matches themselves feature a special pink volleyball.
This heartwarming event sees the participation of around 70 dedicated student-athletes.
The tight-knit community, represented by both HAC and the schools we host, actively engages in various activities during the event. This includes raffles, concessions, face painting, and more, all aimed at raising funds. The proceeds are directed towards our local Breast Cancer Coalition in Rochester, N.Y., which offers vital support to patients and survivors of gynogenic and breast cancer.
Despite being a Class D school within a small community, they consistently achieve remarkable results. Each year, they rally together to raise well over $1,000 to donate to the Breast Cancer Coalition.
A heartfelt shoutout goes to the dedicated coaches and families for their unwavering help and leadership, which plays a pivotal role in making this event such a resounding success.
