About:
Each season we have a Pink Game where my team wears pink shin guard socks and some other pink items. Also, every year we host a bake sale at the high school to raise money for The Nancy B. Clemente Cancer Fund.
The Nancy B. Clement Cancer Fund was created in 2007 shortly after the founder, Nancy, received treatments for her breast cancer. The Fund was created to help others navigate through the myriad of issues she uncovered as a patient. The Foundation’s goal is to offer free education programs for breast cancer patients, their caregivers, family members and even healthcare professionals. The Fund also provides lymphedema compression garments to breast cancer patients who do not have insurance or whose insurance does not cover such a critically important post-treatment form of care, due to financial limitations. Nancy wants to continue to educate and expand the network of knowledge that exists.
Last year, due to COVID-19, we were unable to hold a bake sale so we sold t-shirts. Each year the program donates roughly $300, all from their bake sale or like I said for last year, t-shirts and donations.
I have attached a picture of the socks we wore in our Pink Game this year and the cute water bottles we sold at our bake sale with the baked goods!
