About:

Hauppauge and East Islip Volleyball supporting the DezyStrongFoundation. https://www.dezystrong.org

“The DezyStrong Foundation is a not-for-profit organization that was established by Matthew “Dezy” DiStefano, who was diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney Cancer in February of 2019.

In the midst of his own cancer battle, Dezy chose to spread the message of a “Strong Mind Strong Body” mentality to help motivate and ultimately inspire others.  Throughout the course of Dezy’s 11-month battle with cancer, he had the courage to put his message first, speaking to and influencing as many people as possible. Dezy was proud to have spoken at universities such as Duke, UNC and Hofstra to help athletes understand the importance of a positive mindset and a healthy approach to living. The message of the DezyStrong Foundation has reached thousands of people.

Dezy’s “We Get To” mantra has become a common term among our foundation supporters.  The DezyStrong Foundation is proud to carry on Dezy’s legacy.  Our mission is to provide the opportunity for individuals who are fighting cancer to have access to support that affects a positive mental-well being.

You can help too.  We encourage you to get involved to support this important initiative.  Whether by making a monetary donation, attending an event, or by volunteering your time, you can help support those in their fight against cancer.”
