About:
Hendrick Hudson’s Lacrosse team recently hosted a powerful 15 for Life Mental Health Matchup, using the game as a platform to raise awareness and support for mental health.
As a proud 15 for Life Ambassador since the foundation’s inception, Hen Hud continues to lead with purpose—bringing attention to an issue that impacts so many student-athletes and families.
The 15 for Life Foundation was created in memory of Rob Kavovit, who tragically lost his life to depression in March 2021. Rob wore the number 15 to represent his close-knit family—five brothers and one sister—and his legacy now lives on through a movement dedicated to encouraging others to speak up and seek help.
More than just a game, the Mental Health Matchup brought players, families, and the community together around a shared message: no one is alone.
Through initiatives like this, Hendrick Hudson Lacrosse continues to demonstrate the true meaning of education-based athletics—using sport as a vehicle to lead, uplift, and create lasting impact.
