About:
Herricks High School’s Justice League and Herricks Peer Partners collaborated to spread kindness by hosting an Anti-Bullying Event on Oct. 20, in honor of Unity Day, in the cafeteria courtyard during lunch periods. Unity Day is the signature event of National Bullying Prevention Month, and participants unite for kindness, acceptance, and inclusion.
Students and staff members wore orange, wrote positive post-it notes that they adhered to lockers, spread positive affirmation stickers throughout the building, constructed an orange paper chain link of kind words and created inspiring sidewalk chalk artwork to promote the day’s important purpose. Music and laughter filled the courtyard on this wonderful Wednesday, and the message of bullying prevention was spread to all.
Other buildings in the district also celebrated Unity Day with similar activities that promote connection, kindness and positive actions.
