About:
For the 15th consecutive year, the baseball team continued its commitment to serving the community by volunteering at the bureau’s annual event. This year, the softball team joined in, marking a new chapter in the teams’ dedication to giving back.
With approximately 30 players and coaches working a three-hour shift, the teams unloaded trucks, sorted goods, and helped prepare for the massive giveaway that supports around 2,000 families in the greater Syracuse area. Their efforts didn’t stop there—this year, they extended their service by assisting with Homer’s Toys for Tots drive, ensuring that even more families felt the warmth of community support during the holiday season.
These events are more than just volunteer opportunities; they are powerful lessons in gratitude and perspective. Through their service, players gain a deeper understanding of how fortunate they are and recognize the privilege of playing high school sports. By giving back, they not only strengthen their community but also build character and leadership that will stay with them far beyond the playing field.
