About:

To honor local veterans, the students studnet atheltes and staff at Great Neck Road Elementary hosted a Veterans Day Breakfast Celebration on Nov. 10. Invited to attend the celebration were members of the local V.F.W. and relatives of students who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces. While enjoying breakfast provided by the staff, attendees were treated to a video presentation paying tribute to the five branches of service and musical performances by the school band, chorus and a patriotic sing-along by the kindergartners. Additionally, students performed a dance routine and distributed American flags to the veterans, while recognizing the branch of military they served.

“On Veterans Day we come together as a nation to thank and honor our veterans for their service” said Principal Karla Cangelosi. “Today the staff and students of Great Neck Road Elementary School are proud to honor the members of the United States Armed Forces.”
