About:
On December 6, the Hopkins Park Royals turned the rink into a space for connection, compassion, and conversation by hosting their first-ever Mental Health Awareness Game. The event brought athletes, families, and fans together to shine a light on the importance of mental health and community support.
Held in partnership with Sophie’s Squad, the game emphasized awareness, education, and the power of coming together to support mental well-being. Through game-night engagement and visible support for the cause, the Royals helped foster an inclusive environment where mental health matters—on and off the ice.
Initiatives like this highlight how athletics can be a meaningful platform for advocacy and positive change. By dedicating a game to mental health awareness, the Hopkins Park Royals demonstrated leadership, empathy, and a commitment to supporting the whole student-athlete.
The success of the Mental Health Awareness Game reflects a growing culture of care within the Hopkins Park community—one that recognizes the importance of looking out for one another and using sport as a force for good.
