The Ichabod Crane Boys Basketball program recently demonstrated its commitment to community service by hosting an annual charity game in support of the Valatie Food Pantry. The initiative invited fans and community members to bring non-perishable food donations and financial contributions during the team’s home contests.
Held at Ichabod Crane Middle School, the event combined the excitement of game day with a meaningful opportunity to help families in need. The junior varsity and varsity matchups provided a platform for student-athletes to raise awareness about food insecurity while encouraging school spirit and community involvement.
Through their leadership and outreach, the Riders helped collect essential resources that will assist the Valatie Food Pantry in continuing its mission to serve local residents. Efforts like this highlight the positive role athletics can play in uniting communities and addressing important needs beyond the court.
