About:
Each year, as the final game of the regular season approaches, the student-athletes uphold a heartfelt tradition to honor the teachers who have had a meaningful impact on their journeys. In a show of gratitude, each player writes a personal letter to a teacher who has supported them—whether it was through extra help studying, guidance on a tough class, or simply being there to listen during challenging times. These teachers have been pivotal in helping the athletes overcome the various hurdles they face both on and off the field.
On the morning of the season’s last game, the athletes personally deliver their letters to these influential teachers, along with their team jerseys, inviting them to wear the jerseys throughout the day. This gesture not only recognizes the teachers’ support but also strengthens the bond between the athletic and academic communities within the school.
Reaching the end of a season is a major accomplishment, but this tradition of appreciation adds even greater significance to the milestone. It serves as a reminder of the essential role teachers play in their students’ lives, highlighting how support and encouragement in the classroom translate into resilience and success on the field.
This annual event is a tribute to the power of mentorship and community, with teachers celebrated for their lasting influence on the growth and achievements of student-athletes.
