About:
In honor of Autism Awareness Month, the Island Trees Baseball Program hosted their annual Challenger Clinic, followed by a game against Islip High School. This special event celebrated inclusion while raising funds for the Nassau Suffolk Autism Services Association (NSASA). All proceeds supported programs that make a meaningful difference for individuals and families affected by autism. Community members were encouraged to donate by scanning a QR code or visiting the link in Island Trees Athletics’ bio.
Alongside baseball, our JV and Varsity softball teams also took part in giving back to the community over the weekend. On Saturday, the softball team helped raise over $500 for the Nassau/Suffolk Autism Society during the Challenger Clinic. Then, on Sunday, players volunteered with the LSW Stars Program, engaging with children ages 4 to 15 in fun and supportive activities.
This weekend highlighted the incredible ways student-athletes at Island Trees use their platform to promote awareness, inclusion, and community service.
