Members of Islip High School’s girls varsity tennis team participated in the 11th annual 5K Run/Walk to Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer, held on Sept. 23 at Belmont Lake State Park in North Babylon. The event was sponsored by the Long Island chapter of the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition.

“This cause holds a special place in the team’s heart, as they pledged their support to a teammate’s mother who is currently battling this devastating disease,” said teacher Danielle Martello.
