About:

For the third straight year, the National Junior Honor Society chapter at Massapequa High School’s Ames Campus collected money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. During the drive, which ran for three weeks, ninth-graders were asked to bring in loose change and donate it during homeroom. The collections have averaged a $1,000 a year. Community service is one of the primary missions of NJHS, which is led by advisers Michelle Grossi and Erik Lassen.
