About:
John Jay High School recently demonstrated its commitment to community service during its final sandwich-making session of the season.
Before practice, members of both the JV and Varsity cheerleading teams came together to prepare 200 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for Hope on a Mission, an organization dedicated to helping individuals experiencing homelessness and food insecurity.
The team worked together to assemble the sandwiches, which will be distributed to those in need through Hope on a Mission’s outreach efforts. The initiative provided student-athletes with the opportunity to give back while reinforcing the values of teamwork, compassion, and service.
Throughout the season, the cheerleaders have participated in similar sessions, helping provide meals and support for vulnerable members of their community.
Through their efforts, the athletes from John Jay High School continue to show that leadership extends beyond the sidelines, demonstrating how student-athletes can make a meaningful difference through service.
