About:

Both JV and Varsity teams (35 players) and both of us coaches have been contributing to the efforts to raise awareness towards cancer.
We have created a GoFundMe fundraiser to further benefit and support “Stand Up To Cancer”, a non-profit organization. In addition to spreading awareness about this non-profit organization, we have dedicated time to receiving donations from families around the school, (snacks, baked goods, drinks, etc.) and are donating 100% of the proceeds to the Stand Up To Cancer cause.
We have put in about 10+ hours thus far. The girls have dedicated time at lunch to sell goods to their classmates and teachers and spectators at our volleyball matches.
Although October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we choose to support all cancers when raising awareness for our Dig for a Cure volleyball game. Everybody is touched by cancer in different ways, whether that be a family member or a friend who is currently battling and or is a survivor of cancer. Each player dedicates our Dig for a Cure night to someone in their life, and we express to both the JV and Varsity teams that we play and dedicate that night to each of our 37 loved ones.
Last year we reached our goal of $1200.00, and this year has surpassed that! We are just shy of $2000.00 and are beyond amazed by this donation! We hope to continue our efforts and allow donations to be accepted through the end of this month.
