About:
In honor of World Kindness Day, students and staff at Meadowbrook Elementary School in the East Meadow School District raised more than $900 to help those affected by the recent hurricanes.
According to the Random Acts of Kindness Foundation’s website, World Kindness Day is a global, 24-hour celebration dedicated to paying it forward, focusing on positivity and spreading kindness.
Meadowbrook acknowledged this special day by collecting monetary donations to help victims of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria. Students, teachers and administrators who donated to the cause wrote their names on paper hands, which are currently being displayed on a World Kindness Day poster in the school lobby, to show how people can make a difference when they work together.
All donations will be sent to All Hands Volunteers, a nonprofit disaster relief organization dedicated to rebuilding hope for people impacted by natural disasters.
