About:
During the last two weeks, members of the Student Government at John F. Kennedy High School have raised nearly $7,000 to benefit the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District’s food pantry, the Community Cupboard.
“Layla Schechner and Nicole Giordano created a graphic that students put on their Instagram story,” explained faculty adviser and social studies teacher Brad Seidman. “They collected small increments of money.”
Student government alumni also participated in the campaign.
Members recently traveled to Stop & Shop in Merrick to purchase food donations and gift cards for the 90 families the Community Cupboard is working with during this season.
