About:
“The project was for my sons Junior High ISTE Capstone Project for his 9th grade ELA class Project.
The multifaceted Project seeked to build students’ understanding of where they fit this world, why they should care and that they can indeed make a difference as young adolescents. It was intended to allow him to explore an issue in society and determine a way in which he could help and make a small difference.
He chose homeless veterans because as a 15 year old he has great respect for those that have served this country. Unfortunately, after serving our country, they sometimes come back and fall on hard times.
He chose to do a canned food drive to help make a difference in this matter. He did it on his home game he had for lacrosse. He is a goalie on the RH Lacrosse team.
This was an individual project but the opposing team took a large interest and donated to the cause.
Thanks for taking an interest in my son’s project. It was a huge success and we are looking at doing it again next year.”
