Students and staff from Lafrancis Hardiman Elementary School, in the Wyandanch School District, along with Interim Superintendent of Schools Mrs. Arlise Carson and Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction Ms. Shamika Simpson joined together in the school’s breast cancer awareness walk. It was a sea of pink as students wore their favorite pink apparel and walked in unity around their school.
This was the first year the school held this walk called the Pink Walk and students and staff were asked to donate $1 to the Make-A-Wish Foundation or a breast cancer charity of their choice.
