The Senior Leadership classes from John F. Kennedy, Sanford H. Calhoun and Wellington C. Mepham high schools participated in the Nassau County Veterans Service Administrations annual Thanksgiving Veterans Stand Down.
The students helped to sort food and clothing donations for veterans in need.
“Additionally, the students also helped package over 400 gift boxes for homeless veterans,” explained Christina Cone, the social studies chairperson at Calhoun.
These packages consisted of clothing, food, toiletries and as well as a full Thanksgiving meal.
