About:
The League of YES recently partnered with Long Island Cares and Sachem East Baseball volunteers for a meaningful food drive focused on giving back and supporting families in need across Long Island.
Held this past Saturday, the event brought together players, buddies, volunteers, and community members in a shared effort to help fight food insecurity and support Long Island Cares’ mission of building a hunger-free Long Island.
Student-athletes from Sachem East Baseball joined League of YES participants and volunteers in collecting donations and helping make the event a success. The collaboration highlighted the power of teamwork, inclusion, and community service while creating an opportunity for students to make a positive impact beyond the field.
Long Island Cares expressed gratitude for the generosity and kindness shown by everyone involved, recognizing the important role community partnerships play in supporting local families and individuals in need.
Initiatives like this demonstrate how athletics and community organizations can work together to inspire service, leadership, and compassion. Through their efforts, the volunteers and student-athletes helped show that even small acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
The event served as another great example of students and community members coming together around a shared purpose — giving back, supporting others, and strengthening the Long Island community.
