About:

On Feb. 11, purple messages of love and acceptance adorned the walls and hallways of Lee Road Elementary School in the Levittown Public School District in celebration of P.S. I Love You Day.

Positive messages such as, “You are loved,” could be found in every corner of the school, and purple paper chain links hung throughout the hallways decorated with positive student-written messages. Children and staff were also dressed in purple. Over the PA, an announcement rallied the school community to celebrate mental health on Friday, Feb. 11.

P.S. I Love You Day is celebrated annually on the second Friday in February. It is meant to foster kindness and a welcoming environment while educating students that mental health is just as important as physical health. Videos, books, songs, art and lessons around the importance of identifying emotions and asking for help when needed were taught schoolwide throughout the month leading up to this special day.
