About:
From Nov. 16-20, students, staff and administrators in Freeport Public Schools’ Leo F. Giblyn Elementary School participated in the school’s annual spirit week. Each day featured a different theme including Team Tuesday, Whacky Wednesday and Farmer Friday with students showing their spirit by wearing team T-shirts and face masks, mismatched socks, brightly colored hair, and handcrafted hats and headbands.
For at least five years, Giblyn’s annual spirit week has included a food drive benefiting Freeport Outreach. This year, Giblyn students and staff collected and donated an impressive 3,057 food items to the organization.
Principal Amanda Muldowney thanked the students and staff for their generosity and thanked them for keeping school spirit and the spirit of giving alive this holiday season.
