About:
Recognizing that this year has been difficult for so many people in the community, the Levy Lakeside School student council provided comfort to families with children who have life-threatening illnesses.
The student council, comprised of students in grades 4-6, annually hosts a dance-a-thon to raise money for two designated charities. Due to the pandemic, however, a dance-a-thon was not permitted. To keep pace with their prior philanthropic efforts, the organization decided to donate $200 each to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and The Ronald McDonald House.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital cares for children battling serious illness and conducts research to cure disease. The Ronald McDonald House provides the comforts of home to families whose children are hospitalized far from home.
The student council believes that both charities will be able to put the donations to good use and are proud to help these organizations fulfill their goals in helping sick children and their families.
