This season, the Lindenhurst Varsity Football seniors introduced a meaningful new tradition—one that connects the heart of their program with deep respect for those who serve our nation. Over the summer, players reached out to elite military units across the country, requesting permission to proudly display their insignia on their helmets for the Homecoming game.
Each senior selected a unit that resonated with them personally, choosing symbols that reflected values they admire: courage, sacrifice, loyalty, discipline, and honor. With those emblems placed on their helmets, the Bulldogs took the field carrying not just team pride, but a powerful tribute to the men and women who protect our country.
The initiative added a profound layer of purpose to Homecoming, showcasing the character, unity, and leadership that define Lindenhurst athletics. It also brought the community together in a shared spirit of gratitude and patriotism, reminding everyone that football is at its best when it inspires something greater than the game.
