About:
Lincoln Orens Middle School’s “Little Doctors” made a big different on Jan. 30 at the district’s annual blood drive. Members of the Student Council dressed the part in scrubs, then took great care of those donating for the New York Blood Center.
The students escorted participants, distributed thank you cards and sent their “patients” home with snacks and juice boxes for replenishment. This event is one of the many ways in which Island Park students do their part in the community and aim to help others.
The Little Doctors Program is organized by the New York Blood Center and is designed for faculty members and students at elementary and middle school levels to increase their knowledge and understanding about the science of blood and the body’s circulatory system as well as to learn about volunteerism and community service.
