About:
On December 4, students from Locust Valley Middle School and Locust Valley High School came together after school for a meaningful community service project focused on bringing comfort and encouragement to children in local hospitals.
Working with the nonprofit organization Cards for Hospitalized Kids, students created heartfelt “Get Well” cards filled with messages of hope, kindness, and support. Through their handwritten notes, students aimed to uplift children facing health challenges, while admiring their perseverance and strength.
The project brought together a wide range of student groups, including the high school’s Pre-Health Club, Italian Club, Hispanic Club, Italian Honor Society, and the middle school seventh-grade basketball team. This collaboration showcased the power of teamwork and service across grade levels.
This initiative reflects Locust Valley’s strong commitment to compassion and community service, demonstrating how students can make a meaningful impact through simple yet powerful acts of kindness.
