About:
As May came to a close, Longwood Junior High School wrapped up Mental Health Awareness Month with a powerful and uplifting event — a morning wellness walk designed to promote mindfulness and well-being among students and staff.
The walk featured several checkpoints along the route, where participants paused for “mindful moments” or engaged in short mental health activities. These moments of reflection and self-care served as a meaningful reminder of the importance of mental wellness in our daily lives.
Throughout the month, the school community came together to raise awareness and promote positive mental health through a variety of engaging activities. Students and staff proudly wore green, the official color of mental health awareness, and participated in daily affirmations and wellness-based classroom activities. A mental health resource table was also made available, offering valuable information and support materials to anyone interested in learning more.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to our incredible mental health team and dedicated guidance counselors for planning and leading these important events. Their commitment to supporting the emotional and mental well-being of our students is an essential part of what makes the Longwood community so strong.
Together, we continue to build a school culture that values connection, compassion, and care.
