About:
The Longwood JV Girls Soccer team is using their platform this season to raise awareness for causes that matter, showing what it means to play with purpose and compassion.
On Friday, October 10, the team dedicated their game to Morgan’s Message, a nonprofit organization working to break the stigma surrounding mental health in athletics. Founded in memory of Morgan Rodgers, who tragically lost her life to suicide in 2019, Morgan’s Message encourages student-athletes to treat mental health with the same care and importance as physical health. The team’s efforts served as a powerful reminder that no one should suffer alone and that support is always available.
Just days later, the players continued their commitment to community impact by hosting a Pink Out Kicks for Cancer Game on October 16. Dressed in pink, the team came together to honor those affected by breast cancer and raise awareness for early detection and support.
Through both events, Longwood’s student-athletes demonstrated leadership, empathy, and unity—proving that teamwork extends far beyond the field.
