About:
The Lynbrook High School girls varsity lacrosse team is using its playoff platform to raise awareness for an important cause by dedicating Friday night’s postseason matchup as a Morgan’s Message game in support of student-athlete mental health.
As the Lady Owls prepare to take on Plainedge High School in the opening round of the playoffs, the team is also encouraging the community to come together in support of mental health awareness and advocacy.
Morgan’s Message was founded to honor the life and legacy of Morgan Rodgers and works to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health within the student-athlete community. Through awareness campaigns and community support, the organization continues to encourage open conversations and provide resources for athletes facing mental health challenges.
Fans attending the game will have the opportunity to support the cause through donations, helping further Morgan’s Message’s mission of creating a safe and supportive environment for student-athletes.
Events like this continue to show how athletics can serve as a powerful platform for advocacy, leadership, and community impact beyond competition. Best of luck to the Lady Owls as they compete on the field while supporting an important cause off of it.
