About:
This was a community service project to bring the Spartan Community together to raise money for youth sports to help reduce barriers and costs of youth. We also are donating funds to Spartan families that incur unforeseen expenses- medical costs, house fire, tragedy with financial impacts so that we can continue to support the K-12 community.
K-8 staff played against the High School, unfortunately we lost, but it was an amazing night. We utilized the music department for a pep band, the art department K-12 made posters for faculty playing and provided face painting, and our cheer team performed their national’s routine at half time.
This is our mission and our why-
Mission- To raise money for youth sports teams, while bringing the community together and creating a strong culture K-12. We also want to keep money aside for unexpected needs.
Why- We are creating A2A to further support our youth sports and to help create a stronger sense of Spartan pride within the district. We want to host an event that will bring the community together in a positive way. Ultimately it is for the kids. We want to strengthen our youth sports programs by making all sports teams accessible for families in the district. A2A wants to show youth athletes how strong our community is. We also want to help a member of the spartan community with medical costs.
We could not have done this event without the help of JC who has been doing this type of fundraiser for 10 years! It was awesome to collaborate with them!
On our committee we have 10 students- various roles include, CEO, CFO, merchandise, concessions, game day organization, PR- each student had a specific role in the group to oversee their area, but all worked together. We had student volunteers between art and national honor society we had 10 to 12 extra students volunteering, around 20 Middle and High school pep band students playing.
The event went a little longer than I thought, we did 4 10 min quarters running time the event was roughly 2 hours.
