About:
Each season, Manhasset Field Hockey proudly comes together for our annual Morgan’s Message Game, a tradition that reminds us of the importance of prioritizing and supporting athletes’ mental health. Recognizing that wellness extends far beyond the field, their program is committed to breaking the stigma surrounding mental health and making sure every athlete knows they are never alone.
This year, the four team captains—Annie Accurso, Kylie Russo, Casey Mack, and Eden Randall—helped organize a powerful evening dedicated to both awareness and remembrance.
In addition to spreading Morgan’s Message, the team also honored the memory of Tyler Godfrey, beloved older brother of alumna Grace Godfrey (Class of 2024) and current eighth grade field hockey player Piper Godfrey. Tyler’s passing last year was a heartbreaking loss, and the entire community continues to keep his spirit alive. The Godfrey family was deeply moved that his light and legacy remain at the heart of the program.
Before the game, the captains led a moving pregame ceremony, delivering a heartfelt speech to the crowd: “It’s okay not to be okay. Please reach out if you need help, and always remember—you are not alone.”
Moments like these remind us that while field hockey is the sport that brings us together, it’s the care, compassion, and community we build along the way that truly matter.
