About:

Seventh grade students at Manhasset Secondary School are taking a stand against bullying. As a part of the character development unit in the Home and Careers program, teacher Hunter Bracale is encouraging her students to live by the six pillars of character: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring, and citizenship.

Students discussed how bullying arises from a flaw in character as well as the effects bullying has on others. Students decided if everyone lends a hand to stop bullying, they can create a school and classroom environment that is inviting for all. The seventh graders visualized this concept, cutting out stencils of their hands with personalized anti-bullying messages written on them.
