The Mankato East Girls Tennis team continues to shine far beyond their athletic achievements, demonstrating what it truly means to lead with heart. This year, the team dedicated time to support two meaningful causes within the Mankato community, bringing comfort, joy, and kindness to those who need it most.
In partnership with the Mankato Connections food shelter, the athletes collected and delivered essential items to help local families facing food insecurity. Their generosity not only stocked shelves, but also strengthened the sense of care and connection that defines their team culture.
The team also spent an afternoon at Birchwood Cottage Assisted Living, where the players painted residents’ nails and shared conversations, laughter, and companionship. What began as a simple act of service turned into a special experience for everyone involved, reminding residents—and athletes—that small gestures can make a big impact.
