About:
The Maple Grove Girls Basketball team continues to prove that their impact extends far beyond the scoreboard.
During their Pink Out Night against Providence, the Crimson community came together to raise funds for cancer awareness, with proceeds donated to the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Players, families, and fans filled the gym in pink, transforming a regular season game into a powerful show of unity, compassion, and support.
This cause was deeply personal. The team chose the foundation in honor of Coach Stacie Olson and her mother, who has been bravely battling breast cancer. The players asked Coach Olson which organization she would like the proceeds to benefit, reinforcing what this program stands for: Family First.
Last year, during both their Section Tournament and State Tournament runs, the team wore their Pink Out shirts to honor Coach Olson and her mom — a visible reminder that their bond extends well beyond basketball.
More than just a basketball program, Maple Grove is building leaders who understand the responsibility that comes with having a platform. By rallying around cancer awareness, the Crimson demonstrated that athletics can be a powerful force for hope and healing.
Every donation, every pink shirt, and every show of support sent a message that this team stands together — on and off the court.
More than basketball.
