About:
Fifth graders at Wyandanch’s Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School scored a touchdown when they participated in the SOUPer Bowl food drive the week of Feb. 3-7.
Facilitated by the Student Government Organization, the students were asked to bring in nonperishables to be donated to a variety of community outreach organizations in the Wyandanch community.
At the end of the week, the fifth grade classes collected nearly 1,000 total food items to help defeat hunger and support charities that aid the Wyandanch community.
