The Melrose Girls Soccer and Football teams came together on Sunday morning to participate in Marblehead’s 20th Annual Breast Friends Walk at Devereux Beach.
This meaningful event united athletes, families, and community members in the fight against breast cancer. By walking together, the teams helped raise awareness and show their support for those affected by the disease—demonstrating that teamwork and compassion extend far beyond the field.
Breast Friends Walk 2025 is an initiative that seeks to promote health equity at the MGH Chelsea Health Center by supporting cancer navigation work at MGH Chelsea Healthcare Center. MGH community health workers help patients resolve their barriers to care such as transportation, child care, scheduling appointments and language barriers so they are able to complete critical breast cancer screenings that help detect breast cancer and ultimately, save lives.
