About:
Pep rally pride resonated throughout Valley Stream Memorial Junior High School on Oct. 6, when students and staff members filled the gymnasium to celebrate the culminating day of an event-filled Spirit Week. The annual gathering brought excitement as classes connected to cheer on sports teams and enjoy entertainment.
Spirit Week kicked off on Oct. 2 and involved a different theme each day. The pep rally featured music from the band, a dance show by the kickline and a number of athletic highlights. Each junior varsity team and junior high school team was introduced and players received applause from the stands as they were individually called to the center of the gymnasium floor.
A dance followed later that evening, during which students continued their Hurricane relief fundraising efforts for those in Puerto Rico and Texas.
