About:
Hope For The Warriors is a nonprofit organization that provides comprehensive support programs for service members, veterans, and military families. Founded in 2006, the organization’s mission is to restore self, family, and hope to those who have bravely served our nation. They focus on areas such as clinical health and wellness, sports and recreation, and transition services—empowering veterans to thrive in the next chapter of their lives.
On April 26th, the MacArthur Generals and the Mepham Pirates took the field at Farmingdale State College for a special charity baseball game held in honor of the Hope For The Warriors Foundation. The event was part of an annual tradition started by Eric Passman, a baseball coach in the Bellmore-Merrick High School District, who has passionately led the effort to support this incredible cause through high school athletics.
The event brought together players, families, and community members in a heartfelt show of support, raising awareness and nearly $2,000 to benefit the foundation’s mission.
The atmosphere was filled with pride and purpose. Veterans were honored during a pre-game ceremony, and players sported patriotic accessories to show their support. While the game itself was a competitive and exciting display of high school baseball, the evening’s true triumph was the community’s collective effort to support our nation’s heroes.
This meaningful event proved that through sports, leadership, and teamwork, we can come together to make a real difference—one pitch at a time.
