About:
In less than one week’s time, Merrick Avenue Middle School in the Bellmore-Merrick Central High School District collected enough Halloween candy to fill an SUV.
The school’s Student Council members, along with advisers Joseph Amador and Lucrezia Colangelo, organized and packaged the loot for delivery to Dr. David Gottesfeld’s dental office in Merrick. The donated candy will be sent to U.S. Army troops serving overseas.
“The Merrick Avenue Student Council was the club instrumental in organizing the effort,” said Amador.
