About:
The Merrick Avenue Middle School Wellness Center worked with the PAWS Club to host a Walk-A-Thon and Drive for the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter on March 21.
“Students participated in a donation sorting event and walked the track in support of furry friends from the shelter,” explained school psychologist Dr. Kristine McKiernan. “The drive was very successful and collected a surplus or much needed materials.”
PAWS Club adviser/English teacher Renee Molinaro and school counselor Mark Gross also assisted at the event, which was held on the school’s tennis courts and track.
