About:
The idea was shared with me a few weeks ago. It was a way for our Senior Varsity Football players to show appreciation to those teachers and/or coaches that have had a positive impact on their lives. I had all 4 of my current seniors taking part. The reaction from the adults being presented with the jersey has been incredibly positive. The adults were very appreciative and humbled by the player’s gesture to honor them.
The players will give their game jersey to an adult the day of our game and the adult is asked to wear the jersey for the day. The player retrieves the jersey at the end of the school day. At times players will take pictures with the adult.
It’s been a very positive activity for our players and adults.
