Millbrook Blazers Host “Pink Out” Doubleheader in Support of Miles of Hope

On a meaningful October evening, the Millbrook Boys and Girls Soccer teams united for a special “Pink Out” doubleheader, supporting the fight against breast cancer. The event aimed to raise funds and awareness for the Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation, showcasing the Blazers’ dedication to their community and a cause that affects many lives. The boys’ team kicked off the action, followed by the girls taking the field under the lights at 6:30 p.m., continuing an evening filled with athletic spirit and purpose. Both teams donned pink uniforms to show solidarity in the fight for a cure, while the community rallied behind them with full support.

The “Pink Out” was more than just a game; it was a powerful demonstration of how sports can bring people together for meaningful causes. The Millbrook Blazers’ efforts reflected their commitment to making a difference beyond the soccer field, as they supported the Miles of Hope Foundation’s mission.

Miles of Hope provides crucial assistance to patients and families in the Hudson Valley, focusing on reducing stress during treatment. Rather than funding research for a cure, the organization offers financial support, ensuring patients can focus on recovery without the added burden of daily expenses like food and bills.

During the event, Pari Farood, the executive director of Miles of Hope, spoke about the importance of supporting those undergoing treatment. The evening featured various fundraising activities, including a raffle with donations from local businesses, cotton candy sales, and face painting for kids. Half of the funds raised were donated to Miles of Hope, while the remainder supported the soccer programs and booster club fees.
