About:
Students in Miller Avenue School’s Student Council welcomed a representative from Happy Tails Dog Rescue and two rescue dogs to the school. Gerri Stewart, Goofy and Connie, shared a thank you with the students for their community service efforts. The second graders, along with advisers Mary Anne Benz and Robert Korchma, presented additional fleece blankets that they made for the organization along with a check for $938.61.
Student Council students raised the money from running a pop-up shop for St. Patrick’s Day. Stewart thanked the students and advisers for bringing the organization’s attention to the school community as they continue their mission in rescuing animals, finding foster homes and eventually forever families for them.
