About:
On October 16th, the Miller Place Girls Volleyball team hosted their annual Dig Pink event, raising $1,000 in support of breast cancer awareness. This marks another successful year for the event, with the team consistently raising similar amounts in previous years. Through t-shirt sales and raffle baskets, the team rallies community support for this important cause.
The effort is a collaborative one, with the school’s service club providing food and health classes helping to create large posters to promote the event. For Coach Laura Horan, the cause is especially personal, as her stepsister is currently battling breast cancer. With many women on Long Island also facing this disease, the Dig Pink event stands as a powerful testament to the community’s commitment to raising awareness and supporting those affected by breast cancer.
Great job to everyone involved for making this year’s event a success!
