About:
Each holiday season, the Mineola High School National Honor Society and Key Club collect items and donations from members of the Mineola school community to brighten the holidays for local families in need. This year, a group of graduates is stepping in to help the cause even further.
The group of friends, made up of mostly Mineola alumni, call themselves the “Wolfpack.” After two of them had a conversation with their mom, Colleen Peralta, who also works in the district, the Wolfpack made a generous donation to the annual campaign.
“Service and community service are long standing traditions at Mineola High School,” said Mineola High School Principal Dr. Whittney Smith. “To hear families and students who graduated over ten years ago are still giving back, is a true testament to the incredible community we live and work in.”
The Key Club and National Honor Society have also received generous donations from the district transportation department, faculty, staff, and the Web Construction Corporation, owned by the Taveira family, whose daughter is part of the Wolfpack.
